About Our Board

Monica Mosure is the President and CEO of Private School Pups. In addition to helping our not-for-profit grow and save as many dogs as possible, she also leads our rescue and government relations efforts, and the Communication and Social Media committee. Fostering animals for more than a decade, Ms. Mosure has seen first-hand what training and love can do for rescue dogs.  From special needs dogs to seniors and behavioral cases, she has a diverse set of experience with rescue dogs of all kinds. Raised in Worthington, Ohio, Ms. Mosure has a B.S. in Marketing from The Ohio State University, a B.S. in e-Marketing from Franklin University, and an MBA from The Ohio State University. She is the Chief Administrative Officer for engineering, architecture, and planning firm ms consultants, inc., and owns Message Marketing and Communications – a small women-owned marketing company. At any point in time, Ms. Mosure has several rescues in her house, including foster birds! Her full-time adopted dogs include a 14 year-old Shih Tzu named Jack, a 9 year-old Siberian Husky named Gerbil, and an 11 year-old Japanese Chin-mix named Gizmo.

Justine Smith is our Treasurer of Private School Pups. In addition to being a board member, she is a foster dog parent. She specializes in fostering small and puppy mill dogs, working to help numerous find homes over the years. Justine was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio in 2016. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and her M.A. in curriculum and instruction from The University of Phoenix. Justine teaches lower school at The Wellington School in Columbus and is an active volunteer with Girls on the Run.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, PSP board member Michael Smith, son Fionn, and her and her two rescue pups, Wyatt and Henry. Sara was elected to the board as Secretary for Private School Pups in 2024. She was born and raised in Carleton, Michigan. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. She also has a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus.  Sara is currently a Senior Enterprise Financial Planning Analyst at OhioHealth where she does capital planning and decision support to help support the growth and profitability of the organization. She lives in Clintonville with her partner Michelle and their two dogs Teddy, a mini golden doodle and Ferris, a hound/beagle mix adopted from Pet Promise. In her spare time, she enjoys going on adventures with her dogs, playing pickleball, attending concerts, and attending sporting events. She is excited to share her skills and insights to help advance the mission of Private School Pups.
